My First Trunk Club

Trunk Club was an amazing experience. Contrary to what some have said, you don't have to hate shopping to love Trunk Club. Clearly I love shopping, and I still had such a fun time using their styling service!

To begin, you complete a profile on Trunk Club's site (I used the app and it was a very simple process). Trunk Club will match you up with a stylist unless you personally know one of the stylists, and it gives you the option to enter a stylist name when you register just in case you do! (For the record, I DO personally know my stylist and I'm sure she'd love to be yours, too!) When your stylist is assigned to you, he or she will ask you some fun personal style questions that doesn't take long at all! Your initial consultation can be done within the day. Your stylist will then curate a "trunk" of items you have either requested or items they think you'll love. You can take some time to edit the trunk for different color preferences, size preferences, or even just request that items be removed if you don't like them. You will be charged a $25 styling fee that will be credited to your trunk if you choose to keep anything! And that's it! No more fees (no shipping/handling fees, no other fees that go to Nordstrom/Trunk Club, no other styling fees, literally that's it and it gets subtracted from anything you keep).

Okay let's get started!! I requested some fall pieces to add to my wardrobe and my stylist delivered, so I've been really excited to put this post together to show you what your stylist can do for you and also some fall items Nordstrom has to offer this year! I will, as always, link similar items for variety.

This was a surprisingly sturdy dress. It runs true to size and the length of the sleeves and dress is perfect. While it was structured, it was still comfortable. The fabric was breathable, but thick enough to be comfortable in during fall.

2 & 3. Madewell Placed Stripe Cape Scarf and Seychelles Booties

I can't stress enough how much I loved this. It's nice to have a fall item that isn't burgundy, olive, or navy! Pink for fall is the new move, I'm telling you!

I'll go ahead and mention these booties because I wear them in just about every photo. They're the Seychelles Floodplain Block Heel Bootie. They are BEAUTIFUL and they have six color options. These photos don't do the shoes justice. I never wanted to take them off, hence their appearance in every photo!

This button down is perfect for the working gal. I really don't leave the apartment other than maybe shopping and going to dinner, so this was a send-back for me unfortunately! I did love how it felt and the slight stretch made it super comfortable. I'd advise to size down one size, though!

A super similar Rails plaid top is currently 40% off on Nordstrom's site!! This one though, is super soft, a flattering length, and comes in so many colors that everyone can find one that they like (seriously, 24 color options). I had a super hard time deciding between a classic red plaid, this blue/pink combination, and a beautiful gray/white plaid. Clearly I decided upon pink because I'm pushing the heck out of pink this fall!

(similar soft plaid shirt with multiple color options)

It broke my heart how much I loved this sweater 😂 Clearly, it is a cropped sweater, which I don't quite feel comfortable wearing in public, so I didn't keep this. I doesn't look soft, but it really is!! And the sleeves are a wonderful thick and cozy type of sleeve. I also really liked how the back is a subtle amount longer than the front to add a little bit of security to the cropped feature. Free People always delivers with their sweaters, and this was no exception. They should definitely make a full length version of this popcorn sweater and I will be rushing to the stores!

I have nothing bad to say about this tunic at all. The color is more accurate in the photos I posted than the photos Nordstrom has on their website, though. It really isn't that dark. I would really like to know what the tan tunic looks like in person, so somebody order it and send me photos!! 😉 This tunic is very soft and a nice length for leggings. Also, the mock neck isn't annoying at all like I thought it might be. The neck is very stretchy and soft so you don't notice the different-than-usual length at all.

This dress is so unique! It really pushed the envelope for me. But a piece like this dress is just one example of why it's such a good idea to try out Trunk Club! I honestly never would have chosen this dress for myself, but I really did end up loving it. I would recommend sizing down for a perfect fit.

As for the Madewell Whisper sweater, unfortunately I was less impressed. It's a very thin (and cheap? ): sorry, Madewell, I do truly love you) material. Wearing the sweater alone you could easily see through it, so you'd need to layer it like I have under this 1901 dress, or put something under it. The color is beautiful though, they did do that very well!

Lastly, a few fun pieces that I received but didn't put together in an outfit are:

My next trunk will be coming sometime in November for some holiday outfits!! I thought my next trunk would be less exciting, but I can't wait. The process is just so exciting and finding and trying on items you'd never choose for yourself but end up loving is a great experience. Please reach out to me with any questions regarding Trunk Club! (or if you're in need of a stylist!!)

Thank you so much for reading!
