My Saturday Six...on Sunday

We woke up in a winter wonderland yesterday!
I've decided to start something fun on my blog! Matthew and I try to sit down together every evening (it doesn't happen every evening) and name a few things that made us happy on that day. I've heard doing simple things like this actually completely changes your mood and general disposition and you tend to begin the next day in a better mood than if you hadn't reflected. We could do it by ourselves but it's really nice to hear the good things that your significant other encountered that day, or the little things that you maybe didn't realize would make them happy.

I'm going to do a similar thing here on my blog. Every Saturday (already off to a good start 😂) I'll talk about six things that I loved that week! I don't plan on limiting myself; it could be a book, an event, a little memory, a coffee....literally anything. I'm sure some of the things that made me happy will end up making you happy as well! I urge you to reflect every once in a while on the things that have any sort of positive impact on you!

1. Mercury glass vase: The first thing is a mercury glass vase I found at Marshall's. I looooove mercury glass decorations! This photo doesn't give the BEST view- but you get the gist of it. Pottery Barn and Wayfair both also sell gorgeous mercury glass vases.

2. Jade plant: As odd as it sounds, my Jade plant has brought me so much joy this week! I haven't tended to a plant other than a vase of flowers since I lived at home with my family and I forgot how relaxing it can be. And so rewarding when it grows properly! Granted, the jade plant is supposed to be fool proof, but I'll pretend I'm a pro while it's doing well. Also I can't wait for it to bloom!!

3. Chanel "Canotier": The absolute prettiest nail polish I've ever worn. Worn inside it looks like a pretty muted gold and in the sunlight it looks glittery and amazing. My description isn't doing it justice, so you'll just have to trust me on this! Buying a new Chanel nail polish is slightly less expensive than getting a new manicure, so that's a trade off I take! I love how beautifully packaged they come and that I can wear it over and over as opposed to one trip to the salon.
4. Not Your Mother's Matcha Green Tea & Wild Apple Blossom conditioner: I love this!! I've used it only twice this week, but the smell is amazing and it makes me feel so clean. I've used more expensive conditioners that just make my hair feel weighted down or not properly hydrated, but this is a VERY affordable option that actually works quite well.
5. HelloFresh: So far so good when it comes to Hello Fresh. We usually have a small amount of left overs, it's all actually very fresh, the recipes are easy to follow and there are sooo many meals to choose from each week and they change every week! You can choose when to skip (skip as many weeks as you want), choose how many people you're feeding, how many meals you want per week, your diet restrictions, and it's affordable. Week 1 for us was an all around success!

6. SNOW! We woke up to a looooot of snow yesterday, and while the whole house was really sick (like, REALLY sick) and it was kind of the worst day ever, the snow helped a lot. Theodore loves to be held up to the window and see the snow. If I would stand there for hours with him, he would stare at the snow for hours. The sun never came out yesterday, but I'm hoping today we get some sun so we can see the snow really sparkle before it melts! My favorite part of a big snow is the first time the sun comes out and the untouched snow sparkles. However, today I have to brave the cold to get groceries so hopefully Manhattan has taken care of the roads!

What are some great things you encountered this week? This is a great uplifting conversation to have!!

Thank you for reading!
