Saturday Six

Hi all! Did anyone else have a super busy week? It wasn't so much that I had endless "events" or anything scheduled, I just felt like I had so many tasks to complete this week. But we made it to Saturday again which means I get to recap my favorite things from the week!

1. Gold mule flats: These flats are to die for! They're super comfortable and if you go with the gold, cognac, or black they will match pretty much anything in your closet. I think these will be super popular this spring and summer so I might have to also pick up the pink version! Target also has similar pairs with heels, open toes, tassels, etc. Their spring shoes are out in full force and they're all gorgeous!

2. Hair, skin, and nail gummies: For a while there I was seriously struggling with ALL of the above! My skin had breakout after breakout and was super dry, my hair was not growing back as fast as it used to, and my nails were stuck thin and short. For months I couldn't figure out what it was and I was slightly worried that I had some sort of imbalance! Eventually I realized that a few months ago I had run out of the vitamin gummies that I purchased just for the heck of it and apparently they were seriously making a difference! I drink tons of water, exercise, and eat healthy (most of the time), so anything that can't be seen was very healthy and working well, but we need to take care of the parts of us that can be seen as well! After getting these in my system again I saw my skin start to even out, my hair get thicker, and my nails are growing well again. They truly work!

3. Charcoal wash: This was another thing that I tried for that acne I was talking about! I actually purchased this like an entire year ago just because it was on an amazing sale, and I just finally decided to crack it open recently. It's not even a face wash, it's a body wash. But I was reading the label and it said that it draws out and cleans toxins and impurities as well as deep cleans the skin and purifies the pores. This is great for the entire body, obviously, but this was also EXACTLY what I needed for my face! The bottle didn't say NOT to, so I went ahead and cleaned my face with this wash, waited for any bad reactions for a few days, and did it again. I ended up using this on my face every three days for probably two weeks and it smoothed my skin like nothing else! The combination of this wash and the gummies above worked wonders on my skin and I don't know if I can live without the duo now!

4. One person mug cookie: Whaaat??? You read that correctly. A perfectly portioned (okay it's larger than a portion size) cookie in a MUG. There are tons of recipes for this but I used this recipe by Mel's Kitchen Cafe. I found that if I microwave it for the entire minute it gets very hard, though. So pay attention to your microwave wattage! It's sooo delicious and fun for when you want a quick desert. Also, since Matthew and I like to eat as healthy as we can, I don't want to make an entire batch of cookies on our bad days so it's nice that there are no leftovers when we make these 😋

5. NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé: Sounds super weird, I know. But it's amazing. I have yet to try it on my cheeks and honestly probably won't. I'm not a fan of cream formulas for anything other than lips! But on the lips it's so lightweight that it feels like you're not wearing anything at all! I tend to have dry lips so I use a lip balm underneath the "soufflé" and I think that made it apply flawlessly. The color builds really well, too. I have the "Pink Cloud" shade and when applied only a single time, it's just a very slight tint that would be good for a natural or even no-makeup day. But if it's applied once more the color is a beautiful light pink that stands out much more! This past week I have worn this color four times! Which is a lot considering there are seven other pink shades to choose from sitting in my handbag alone 😶 It's on sale for $3 (!!!) on NYX's site! Go buy all the colors!!

6. Coconut milk latte with vanilla: Another one of my healthy eating trend habit changes 😂 Even though I'm trying my hardest to eat as healthy as I can with no exceptions...I'm not giving up my Starbucks. No way no how. My old usual order was a white chocolate mocha (yikes...don't even look up the nutrition facts, please). I've switched it up by ordering a latte made with coconut milk and sweetened with sugar free vanilla. The foam and the slight sweetness make it feel like a super indulgent drink but it rounds out at about 150 calories (opposed to 340 in white chocolate mocha). I could always switch out the vanilla for a pump of white mocha and the calories would still be significantly less than my old usual! There are lots of ways to make your favorite drinks much much healthier and the baristas are always happy to help craft a drink for you!

Thank you all for reading!!
