A Skin Routine For When Your Skin Is Feeling Dull

Hi all! Recently I've felt very busy and haven't been giving my skin the attention that it needs. If you're in the same boat and not necessarily ready to add an entire skin routine in, try drinking more water! Water is always a good start... for basically everything. But in addition to drinking more water, I have been including this quick skin routine around two times per week. The combination of the different products is perfect for deep cleaning, hydrating, and brightening- and I do see a difference!

1. L'Oreal Hydrafresh Toner - You've heard me talk about the importance of toner way too often, especially if you're following me on Instagram. And I'm not done! This specific toner is priced well and super refreshing. I not only use it when my skin is feeling dull, but I also use it before I exercise! Making sure to clear the skin of any excess oils or dirt is important before you exercise since the pores will open! It's inevitable that the oil and dirt will clog your pores if not cleared away. For this situation, toning the skin is prepping the skin. Your pores will be more receptive to the treatment following if they've been cleaned and cleared.

2. teami Detox Mask - Not only does this mask clean your pores (very well) but it also pumps your skin full of nutrients that it obviously wouldn't get on its own! A lot of clarifying/detoxing masks I've used have left my skin dry and I really need to layer on a thick moisturizer afterward, but the teami mask is very gentle while still doing its job. I don't know what it is, maybe all the hard work that's being done to my skin, but after cleaning this mask off with a warm towel, my skin needs to relax. It actually feels like my skin is doing work, lol.

3. Global Beauty Care gold mask - This was a gift, so I'm not sure where to find it outside of Amazon, but of course Amazon has everything so I knew I could find it there! The purpose of the mask is to reduce fine lines with the infusion of gold. It also hydrates and tones. I've noticed the hydration the most and I've been really impressed with it! Since it's a gel mask I use it after my skin is red and warm from step 2, the teami mask. It's a perfect compliment to that mask!

4. Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum - There has been a lot of talk about Mario Badescu's products suggesting that they're quality is so-so (actually, people are saying bad) but I couldn't disagree more. I use a few of the products on a regular basis because they truly work for me! Especially this Vitamin C Serum. This is another brightening step in this routine! The serum is also meant to reduce fine lines again, so this routine would also be great for those of us beginning to see little wrinkles- as of now I use it for the brightening and evening of my skin tone. After this entire skin routine I've always felt that my skin felt super...plump? In a good way? Lol, it just feels very fresh, clean, and hydrated which leads to a healthy plumpy feeling, and when I looked at this serum's info page it says exactly that. So I know the plump feeling comes from the sodium hyaluronate and collagen in the product working to do just that- hydrate and plump.

5. Estée Lauder Day Wear Moisturizer - This is usually a morning routine because I like to wear the effects of all of these products for the whole day- essentially show off my new skin 😉 So to finish it off I use this day wear moisturizer. It's super light and refreshing and doesn't clog up the pores I just worked so hard to clean and hydrate. As a bonus, it has SPF! In any morning routine you need to add SPF to your skin. It should be including in either a moisturizer, primer, or your foundation. If it isn't in any of those things, you can simply add a normal face sunscreen as a step before your makeup and after cleaning.

Something I didn't include in the graphic is my Lush Bubblegum lip scrub. I don't use a lip scrub every time I do this routine because my lips seem really sensitive. But when they're feeling rough, this does an amazing job of refreshing the lips and adding some moisture- I do follow up with a basic lip balm to seal it all in!

I hope you guys love these products and they add some value to your skin routine! If you have any holy grail products you'd like me to try please let me know!

I'd also quickly like to say THANK YOU! You all know as of recently I (unfortunately) must rely totally on my Etsy shop and this blog for income but you've all been an amazing support system not only through your purchases but through your words! I'm working slowly but steadily on a real estate license and have been able to purchase a test that I needed completely from my Etsy sales and I could not be more thankful for that. I love you all!

Thank you for reading!
