Crockpot Apple Spice Cake

Happy October! I thought posting this recipe on the first day of the month of October was very fitting as Matthew's review was, "It tastes like fall in my mouth!". Perfect timing, right? Usually on the first of the month I'd post a book review, but I've seriously slacked off in the book reading department this month! I'm actually pretty upset with myself about it! I started The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian and it has a fantastic beginning, unfortunately that's the extent of a review I can give on that book because it's as far as I got. So The Flight Attendant will be read during October and it's review will be November 1. However, when you taste this recipe, I think you'll agree this was a good trade off.

Ingredients:
2 cans of apple pie filling
1 box of spice cake mix
1 stick of butter
Step 1:
Add both cans of apple pie filling to the bottom of your crockpot, spread evenly.

Step 2:
Pour your spice cake mix over the apples. Again, spread evenly.

Step 3:
Chop the butter into 8 1-tbsp pieces and lay around the cake mix as evenly as you can.

Step 4:
Set the crockpot to high and cook for 2 hours!

How easy is that?? Matthew and I couldn't get enough of it! I think I saw this recipe on Facebook, or maybe it was a Pinterest ad- if you happen to know the original source of the recipe (there are probably a million variations) please let me know and I'll insert a link to it here! This would go very well with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream if you're looking for a few extra calories 😉 Please message me any of your favorite fall recipes- I'm in the mood to try more!

Happy October and thank you for reading!!
