Low Country Boil Recipe + Giveaway

Hi all! It's almost Memorial Day which means you need to be gathering all your best family recipes! A few Insta friends and myself are partnering together to share all of our favorites and mine is definitely our low country boil recipe. Visit my page on Instagram to read all of the other recipes from the other ladies. On Instagram you'll also find our GIVEAWAY! We've all also partnered with a lovely woman-owned small business, Nothing Fancy Supply to giveaway a package of her limited-edition Memorial Day wraps. These wraps are reusable and so nice! You can DM me on Instagram with questions, but to enter all you need to do is follow all four women and Nothing Fancy Supply and tag a friend in the comments of the giveaway post on Instagram! The more friends you tag in separate comments, the more entries you receive (one tag=one entry, lol).

Let's get to the recipe! Every time I eat this I tell myself I need to eat it more often. It's so good! And also super easy.

Ingredients:
3 lemons
1/2 C Old Bay seasoning
6 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 yellow onion
1 pound small red potatoes
4 ears of corn
1 pound of raw shrimp
1 pound of smoked sausage
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp parsley (fresh is best 😉)
2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Method:

Quarter 2 lemons and cut another into wedges. Set them all aside. Chop half an onion into large pieces and add to a skillet with 6 cloves of minced garlic. Cook until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant.

Fill a large pot 3/4 full with water and add in the 2 quartered lemons (I give each piece a little squeeze into the water before adding them), 1/2 C Old Bay seasoning, and the cooked garlic and onion. Bring to a boil.

While it's reaching a boil, wash your red potatoes and corn cobs, chop the red potatoes into large pieces and cut the corn cobs into thirds. When the water is boiling, add in the potatoes and cook until they're tender. Cut up the sausage while you're waiting for the potatoes to cook. When the potatoes are done, add in corn, shrimp, and sausage. Cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

Strain the low country boil and reserve one cup of the broth in a separate bowl.

Dump the contents of the boil (veggies, meats, etc.) either onto a large platter or onto a table prepared with loooots of newspaper (only if you'll be serving outdoors, lol). Add 3 tablespoons of butter, one tablespoon of parsley, and one tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the bowl with the broth and whisk. Pour the broth mixture over your low country boil.

Enjoy! If you test out this recipe please let me know how it goes! I'd love to see your photos and hear your reviews. And again, make your way over to my Instagram to check out our fun giveaway with Nothing Fancy Supply.
