Quick Laundry Update: A-Street Prints Pacifica Collection at Brewster Homes

First of all, I had no idea how easy it was to install wallpaper! All that I heard of wallpaper growing up was that it was a pain in the rear, but wallpaper has had a resurgence! The technology has certainly upgraded since the old days and currently you can find some seriously beautiful wallpaper and relatively quickly install it for a weekend project to update your home!

We had an awkward laundry area kind of hidden behind a tiny wall in our home and we needed a way to break it up. It sits next to the dining area by the kitchen and separates all of that from the owner's room so it could have been a beautiful transitional space. How the previous owner had it, though, it was a little bleak and seemed like an afterthought. When Brewster Homes approached me about working together to share their Pacifica collection of wallpapers I knew exactly the space that could use an elegant wallpaper!

I took a few photos along the way to show how truly simple it is to install and also so you can get that before + after effect.

Here is our "before". If you have any nooks such as this that lack character, they are the perfect candidate for a quick wallpapering! See below: my poor dad putting in all of the work. First we (he) rolled out a sheet the height of the wall. Then we matched up the pattern right next to it on the floor that was prepared with a painter's plastic cover to be sure we didn't get any scuffs/dirt on the wallpaper.

Then you literally just grab a large wallpapering brush and the wallpaper paste from your local home store, brush it on the clean wall, and carefully press the wallpaper onto the wall! We also used a smoothing tool to be sure there weren't any bubbles and it helped to get out any excess paste. The excess paste easily cleaned off with a sponge and water. (And if I'm the only one who didn't already know it was easy to install wallpaper...just let me be amazed 😂)

The finished result! We love it so much! We have plans to add a shelf the length of the back wall and possibly cabinetry. I don't know why updating a little laundry nook brings so much joy but it sure does!

I love the Pacifica collection from Brewster Homes because there is something for everyone. From a beautiful grasscloth in many colorways to trendy prints, I had such a hard time deciding which direction I'd take this space. I ordered like 8 or 9 samples and spent way too long with them taped all over this area trying to decide what would be best. The problem was that I loved them all! I actually decided I will definitely be wallpapering more spaces throughout our home. Next up is mine and Matthew's bedroom...I'll keep you updated. But to sort out what would be going in the laundry, I asked Matthew for his opinion and he helped me narrow it down to two! Clearly, the Periwinkle Blue Textured Floral wallpaper was the winner and I could not be happier.

Some of my favorites:

Maybe considering wallpapering every square inch of our home after this experience 😬 Buckle up, Matthew! But seriously, the grasscloth in beige would look perfect for a bedroom and that might have to be our next move! Since wallpaper is making quite the comeback right now I've been loving seeing where others find to incorporate it! If you're not up for an entire room you could try the walls of a pantry, bedroom closet, a smaller bathroom, or even behind built-in shelving. I would love to help you pick out the best space for wallpaper in your home or help you narrow down which wallpaper to choose! You can always send me a DM on Instagram, @elizabetht.taylor.

Thank you for reading! I hope you love the Pacifica collection as much as I do!

And a huge thank you to Brewster Homes for so generously asking me to share about this new collection.
